Florence launches digital inclusion and historical memory initiatives
The City of Florence has introduced two distinct community projects aimed at education and social inclusion.
Through the 'InDigitale: Firenze per una Cittadinanza Attiva' initiative, Universal Civil Service volunteers are operating digital infopoints across the city's five districts. This program provides free, personalized support to help citizens and residents navigate online public services, manage digital identities like SPID, secure devices against cyber threats, and understand emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Simultaneously, the Tuscan Historical Institute of the Resistance and Contemporary Age has launched 'Resistenze femminili: fonti, storie, percorsi'. This educational project uses archival research to highlight the roles of approximately 400 women who served as partisans or patriots during the struggle against Nazi-fascism. The initiative includes educational paths and video documentation to honor figures such as Maria Luigia Guaita, Tosca Bucarelli, and Anna Maria Enriques Agnoletti, ensuring their contributions to the liberation movement are recognized by younger generations.
