Florencia Kirchner's US$5.6 million assets released for seizure

Banco Galicia has confirmed to the Argentine judiciary that more than US$5.6 million belonging to Florencia Kirchner is available for use. These funds have been frozen since 2016 following orders by Judge Julián Ercolini during the Hotesur-Los Sauces investigation.

The specific assets include US$4,664,000 held in a safety deposit box, US$1,032,144 in savings accounts, and 53,280 pesos. Although Florencia Kirchner was acquitted in the Hotesur-Los Sauces case, the funds remained immobilized due to ongoing judicial scrutiny regarding their origin.

The Oral Federal Court 2 (TOF 2) now intends to incorporate these assets into the forfeiture process related to the Vialidad case. This effort aims to recover a debt that, adjusted for inflation, has reached approximately 684,990 million pesos. The seizure of these funds is part of a broader strategy to cover the financial obligations resulting from the conviction of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and others in the Vialidad case, as previous seizures of real estate were deemed insufficient to meet the total amount.
