Argentine actress Florencia Peña is preparing legal action against streaming platform Luzu TV after a live broadcast incorrectly announced the death of Jorge Messi, father of footballer Lionel Messi. The false report led to Peña’s dismissal from the program.

Peña’s lawyer, Fernando Burlando, explained that her contract with Luzu TV, which began in March, remains in force until December and can only be terminated with a 30‑day notice. He said that if the required notice was not given, Peña could seek damages and the remaining contractual payments. Peña publicly apologized on air, stating she “mistook the information as confirmed” and expressed remorse for any hurt caused.

The dispute centers on whether Luzu TV can be held liable for breach of contract and the alleged wrongful termination, with Peña reportedly demanding full payment through the end of the contract term.
