Dinamo Bucharest hires Nuno Campos as head coach after Zeljko Kopic departs

Dinamo Bucharest confirmed the departure of Croatian head coach Zeljko Kopic following a loss to FCSB in the Conference League play‑off. Club president Andrei Nicolescu said the split was amicable and noted that, despite rumors of a lucrative offer from Al‑Wahda in the United Arab Emirates, “there was no concrete offer” and any talk of a $1 million‑per‑season deal was unfounded. He added that the only genuine interest Kopic had received earlier was from a Chinese club.

The club swiftly appointed Portuguese coach Nuno Campos as Kopic’s successor. Campos is expected to shift Dinamo’s tactics from Kopic’s 4‑3‑3 to a more dynamic 4‑4‑2 diamond formation, emphasizing vertical attacks and greater offensive movement. Nicolescu highlighted the need for greater versatility and faster transfer decisions under the new regime.

Alongside the coaching change, assistant coach Florentin Petre also left Dinamo to continue working with Kopic at his new club, ending a two‑year stint with the Bucharest side. Nicolescu mentioned that Dinamo has an active scouting department for coaches, enabling rapid replacement when unexpected vacancies arise.
