Flores earthquake relief efforts intensify in Nusa Tenggara Timur
Humanitarian organizations and private companies are intensifying relief efforts for survivors of the Flores earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that caused over 140 deaths and significant damage to housing and infrastructure, multiple agencies are addressing critical shortages in sanitation, food, and psychological support.
Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) has reached over 20,000 people, providing 374,800 liters of clean water, hygiene kits, and tents. WVI is also operating child-friendly spaces and nutrition centers to support children across six regencies, including Manggarai and Ende, through November 2026.
Private sector contributions include PT Uni-Charm Indonesia Tbk, which distributed essential sanitation products such as diapers and sanitary pads to displaced persons in the Manggarai region. Additionally, PT Sriboga Flour Mill donated Rp100 million through Human Initiative to provide food, hygiene, and bedding kits to those in need.
