Florești food poisoning outbreak affects 63 people
The number of people affected by a food poisoning outbreak following a private event in Florești has risen to 63. Among those affected, 19 are children.
Laboratory tests have confirmed the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis in eight of the patients. A total of 14 individuals required hospitalization, with patients being treated at various facilities, including the Florești District Hospital, Bălți Clinical Hospital, the ‘Toma Ciorbă’ Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, and the Chișinău Municipal Clinical Hospital for Contagious Diseases for Children. Other affected individuals are receiving treatment at home under medical supervision.
The National Agency for Public Health (ANSP) is conducting an epidemiological investigation to identify all affected persons and determine the circumstances of the group illness. Authorities advise anyone experiencing fever, diarrhea, or vomiting to seek urgent medical assistance.
