Bayern Munich monitors Florian Wirtz amid Liverpool adaptation struggles

Bayern Munich is reportedly monitoring the situation of Florian Wirtz at Liverpool as the 23-year-old German midfielder struggles to meet expectations following his £116 million transfer in the summer of 2025. Since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz has faced scrutiny for his modest output, recording five goals and three assists in 33 Premier League appearances during his first full season.

While Liverpool intends to support manager Andoni Iraola in integrating Wirtz into the squad for the 2026/27 campaign, concerns have been raised regarding his long-term impact. Wirtz remains under contract until June 2030, giving Liverpool significant leverage, but Bayern Munich remains a potential destination should the player's form fail to improve.

In a separate development, Liverpool is reportedly assessing Paul Wanner, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder currently at PSV Eindhoven, as a potential option to enhance the team's creativity.
