Florianópolis named Brazil's most creative city

Florianópolis has been named the most creative city in Brazil according to the 2026 Creative Cities Index, developed by Adobe Firefly. Scoring 74.6 out of 100, it was the only city among the 50 analyzed to exceed 70 points, surpassing other major municipalities such as São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Niterói, and Juiz de Fora.

The study evaluated 22 indicators, including the density of creative businesses and jobs—those generating value through knowledge, innovation, culture, and creativity—as well as cultural infrastructure, artistic activities, entertainment, visitor satisfaction, and access to cultural experiences.

Mayor Topázio Neto stated that the result reflects a development model combining innovation, entrepreneurship, quality of life, culture, and tourism. The city's creative economy is supported by a highly developed innovation ecosystem and its status as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the Gastronomy category.
