Florida Man Arrested for Child Abuse Involving Laundry Room Punishments

William Conner, a 42‑year‑old resident of Volusia County, Florida, was arrested and charged with two counts each of child abuse and child neglect for the mistreatment of a 12‑year‑old boy and a 14‑year‑old girl. The children were confined to a detached laundry room without air conditioning, denied regular food and water, and forced to consume food contaminated with animal feces and water mixed with urine. They were also subjected to physical punishments, sleeplessness tactics, and required to use a bucket as a toilet.

Samantha Lucas, a 33‑year‑old woman, was also arrested and faces two counts of child neglect related to the same case. Both suspects posted bond and are scheduled to appear in court in August. Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood called Conner “the year’s scumbag” on social media. The children have been removed from the abusive environment and are now in a safe setting.
