Florida municipalities adopt new property tax rates and budgets
Local governments in Florida have finalized property tax rates and budgets for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
The Delray Beach City Commission voted on September 22, 2026, to adopt a total millage rate of 6.3790 mills. This includes an operating millage rate of 6.3501 mills and a debt service rate of 0.0289 mills. City Manager Terrence R. Moore stated the budget aims to maintain fiscal responsibility while funding essential services such as public safety, infrastructure, and parks.
In Brevard County, the Commission adopted a total budget of approximately $2.43 billion, which is 6.3% lower than the previous year's $2.59 billion budget. The countywide aggregate millage rate was set at 4.7491 mills, representing a 5.75% increase over the previous year's rate. Officials noted that these budget decisions are independent of the upcoming November 3 vote on Florida Amendment 3, which could impact property taxable values in the future.
