Florida municipal budget and tax rate approvals

Overview

Local governments in Florida have finalized their budgets and property tax rates for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

In Palm Beach County, the Commission approved a $9.91 billion balanced budget, which is $303 million higher than the previous year. The plan maintains a millage rate of 4.5 mills and allocates $1.1 billion to the Sheriff’s Office. While the millage rate passed with a 5-2 vote, some officials supported specific funding for fire rescue and library services despite opposing the rate.

Other municipalities and counties have also set their rates. Delray Beach adopted a total millage rate of 6.3790 mills to fund infrastructure, public safety, and parks. In Brevard County, the Commission approved a $2.43 billion budget, a 6.3% decrease from the prior year, while setting an aggregate millage rate of 4.7491 mills.
