Florida woman arrested for leaving four children unsupervised
Irene Miller, a 50-year-old professional photographer from Kissimmee, Florida, was arrested after allegedly leaving her four children, aged 9 to 14, home alone for five days while she traveled to Las Vegas for a work trip.
The incident came to light following a 911 call from one of the children reporting that her 9-year-old brother had been struck in the head by a falling dumbbell. Emergency responders found the four children without adult supervision. The 9-year-old was treated and released from a hospital.
Miller informed deputies that while a babysitter was scheduled to care for the children before and after school, no one was required to stay overnight. Miller was apprehended by police as she was deboarding a flight returning to Florida.
