Florida's 2026 primary voter registration deadline set for July 20

Florida’s closed‑primary system requires voters to be registered with a party to vote in partisan contests. The deadline to register to vote—or change party affiliation—for the Aug 18, 2026 primary is Monday, July 20.

Mail‑in ballots must be requested by Thursday, Aug 6. All mailed ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Early voting opens on Monday, Aug 3 in Hillsborough County (10 a.m.–6 p.m.) and on Saturday, Aug 8 in Pinellas County (8 a.m.–5 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. on weekends), continuing through Sunday, Aug 16. Polls are open statewide on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
