Fülöp Botond slams Hungarian political elite over NKA arrests and term‑limit proposal
Lawyer Fülöp Botond, known online as “Vidéki Prókátor”, used a Facebook post to argue that the politicians imprisoned in the NKA corruption case are merely “idiots”, while the true beneficiaries continue to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle abroad. He claimed the real culprits are “still free, sipping drinks in an American stadium VIP lounge or dining on lobster”, and suggested the detainees write a national creed on their cell walls as consolation.
Botond also denounced a proposal by the Tisza Party to limit members of Hungary’s Parliament to three terms (12 years), saying it would restrict passive voting rights and unfairly exclude experienced politicians. He warned the measure would prevent future leaders like Deák Ferenc from serving and called for broader civic education rather than electoral bans.
