Flávio Bolsonaro amendments face audit request by PT leader
Pedro Uczai, the PT leader in the Chamber of Deputies, has petitioned the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to request an audit of parliamentary amendments allocated by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro to third-sector entities in Rio de Janeiro since 2019. The request was submitted to Minister Flávio Dino.
The petition follows investigations by the Federal Police under Operation Emendatio, which examines the diversion of funds to organizations linked to the Brazão brothers. Central to the request is a transfer of nearly R$ 200,000 in 2023 to the Instituto de Formação Profissional José Carlos Procópio (Ifop).
Investigators have identified messages suggesting that an advisor to Flávio Bolsonaro, Maria de Fátima Bezerra Castro, negotiated the release of funds with Robson Calixto, a convicted criminal involved in the Marielle Franco murder case. Additionally, the advisor reportedly requested Carnival VIP tickets, which authorities are treating as a possible undue advantage. A TCU audit also found that Ifop used some funds to pay a law firm owned by its own directors, signaling potential embezzlement.
