Flávio Bolsonaro challenges judicial orders from the United States

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro has issued a formal statement from the United States, claiming he is a victim of political persecution following his defeat in the presidential election. He maintains that his departure from Brazil was not a flight, but a necessary move to avoid being silenced or imprisoned, stating, “I did not leave Brazil, I left for Brazil.”

Bolsonaro is contesting judicial measures ordered by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, which included the seizure of his passports and a prohibition on leaving the country. The senator’s legal team has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, requesting the return of his documents and asking that Justice Moraes be declared impeded or suspect. The defense cites a potential conflict of interest involving a company that owns a jet used by the justice.

The senator also criticized the Brazilian media, specifically Rede Globo, accusing the broadcaster of being “afraid” after declining an interview that he insisted be aired without cuts or thematic restrictions.

His travel to the United States occurred via Argentina and Ecuador in a private jet, despite the standing judicial orders. Investigations by the Federal Police are reportedly examining the logistics of his departure, including potential international coordination.
