Flávio Bolsonaro prohibited from leaving Brazil by court order FAST-MOVING

Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has ordered Senator Flávio Bolsonaro to surrender his passports and has prohibited him from leaving the country. The decision, which includes the cancellation of his Brazilian passports, was communicated to the senator by Federal Police agents as he was leaving his father Jair Bolsonaro’s residence in Brasília.

The judicial measure is part of ongoing investigations into suspected money laundering involving gambling platforms and the illegal financing of the film ‘Dark Horse’, a production about his father’s career. The investigation examines financial links between the senator and lawyer Willer Tomaz, who is also under investigation for similar activities.

Flávio Bolsonaro has characterized the decision as political persecution and an attempt at intimidation following his defeat in the recent presidential election. He claimed the order was based on statements made by his brother, Eduardo Bolsonaro, who suggested Flávio should leave Brazil if the election results were unfavorable. The senator announced his intention to challenge the restriction through legal channels.
