Flávio Bolsonaro faces new TSE investigations and remains in the US

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro is facing three new investigations by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). These inquiries involve the alleged influence of criminal militias on elections, the financing of the film “Dark Horse,” and claims regarding pressure exerted by supporters on the US government.

With these new actions, Bolsonaro faces a total of nine judicial electoral investigations at the TSE. These investigations follow his departure from Brazil to the United States, a move made despite a judicial order to surrender his passports as part of Supreme Court investigations into suspected money laundering.

While in the US, Bolsonaro has participated in conservative events, such as the CPAC conference in Mar-a-Lago, where he stated that his electoral defeat is “not the end.” He has continued to question the legitimacy of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s victory, despite admitting he has no proof of electoral fraud. Researchers from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) have analyzed election data and found no evidence of fabricated numbers in the 2026 election results.
