Flávio Bolsonaro criticised over Vorcaro links as right‑wing rivals push unity against PT
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL‑RJ), a pre‑candidate for the 2026 presidential election, displayed a poster reading “O Pix é do Brasil e do Bolsonaro” at a Ceasa event in Contagem, echoing President Lula’s earlier Pix‑related banner. Bolsonaro blamed Lula for a possible U.S. 25% tariff on Brazilian imports, accusing the president of damaging relations with the United States.
A separate controversy erupted after reports revealed Bolsonaro’s negotiations with banker Daniel Vorcaro, who invested R$134 million in the film “Dark Horse.” Former Minas Gerais governor Romeu Zema (Novo) criticized Bolsonaro for the association, saying the scandal could open space for other right‑wing candidates. Zema later emphasized that, despite the rift, the right must remain united against the PT in a potential second‑round runoff.
Deputy Domingos Sávio (PL) defended Bolsonaro, attributing attacks from Zema to a “bad marketer.” Bolsonaro also met with Zema and presidential hopeful Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) at the Megaleite livestock fair, stressing the need for cooperation among the three to defeat the PT.
