Fly2Galicia faces scrutiny over use of Romanian carrier FLYYO

Fly2Galicia, a commercial brand based in Santiago de Compostela, is facing scrutiny regarding its operational model and the background of its actual air carrier. While marketed as a new Galician airline, legal documentation reveals that Fly2Galicia is a commercial brand owned by Aviation & Mobility Services Group, S.L., rather than an independent operator with its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

The company utilizes FLYYO S.R.L., a Romanian airline, as the actual carrier for its flights. This arrangement has drawn political criticism from Movemento Sumar Galicia, which has demanded transparency regarding FLYYO’s previous operations. The group's secretary general, Paulo Carlos López, requested clarification on the circumstances of FLYYO’s involvement in flights used to transport Palestinian populations out of Gaza.

These concerns follow an Al Jazeera investigation that identified an aircraft registered to the Romanian company among those used in operations to move citizens from Gaza. The investigation suggested the existence of intermediaries involved in these transfers and potential links to groups facilitating the voluntary emigration of the Gazan population.
