Flybondi barred from Brazil‑Rio tickets as Argentina clears flights
Brazil's aviation regulator ANAC prohibited Flybondi from selling tickets on the Buenos Aires–Rio de Janeiro route, citing a sharp rise in cancellations, reduced operations, scheduling inconsistencies and a surge in passenger complaints. The measure follows earlier restrictions on flights to other Brazilian cities.
In Argentina, ANAC approved Flybondi's submitted plan of action, allowing the carrier to continue operating and selling tickets after more than 120 flight cancellations earlier in the year. The authority confirmed the airline meets safety and operational requirements.
Brazil's Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, announced the government intends to attract ultra‑low‑cost carriers, pursuing liberalisation of the seventh, eighth and ninth freedoms of the air to increase competition in the Brazilian market.
