Flybondi faces severe operational and financial crisis in Argentina
Flybondi is experiencing a severe operational and financial crisis in Argentina. The low-cost carrier has faced significant service disruptions, including canceling over 60% of its scheduled flights during the winter holiday season. The company has also ceased its long-standing operations at the Corrientes airport after more than eight years.
Financially, the airline is under pressure from judicial seizures regarding debts to ARCA exceeding 1.5 billion pesos. The company is also embroiled in labor disputes, with more than 700 former employees awaiting severance and voluntary retirement payments. Additionally, Flybondi has returned four Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its owners.
Despite these challenges, the airline has recently reactivated its website to resume ticket sales for travel from November onwards, including destinations such as Bariloche, Mendoza, and Asunción. However, travel agencies and consumer associations have expressed concern regarding the airline's ability to guarantee services amidst its ongoing instability.
