Flybondi faces bankruptcy petition over 660 million‑peso hotel debt

The historic five‑star Hotel Presidente in Buenos Aires filed a petition for bankruptcy against low‑cost carrier Flybondi, claiming a debt of more than 660 million Argentine pesos for 49 unpaid invoices dated between December 2025 and June 2026. The request was lodged in Commercial Court No. 24, where Judge Guillermo Pesaresi rejected the petition pending additional documentation on the invoices.

Flybondi is already in a deep operational crisis. Most of its fleet is grounded, the airline has reduced its fleet from 13 to 11 aircraft, cancelled all flights on a recent Thursday, and seen its domestic market share plunge from 25 % in February to 6 % in May. Between May 2025 and May 2026, the number of flights fell 64 % and passengers carried dropped 66 %, affecting over 350 000 travelers. A criminal complaint has been filed over the massive cancellations. The airline has not issued a comment on the hotel’s claim or the judge’s decision.
