Flybondi faces operational collapse and regulatory scrutiny in Argentina

The low-cost airline Flybondi is facing a systemic operational collapse in Argentina, with its entire fleet grounded for 13 consecutive days. The crisis is compounded by a total failure of the company’s digital platforms, leaving passengers unable to manage bookings, request refunds, or seek cancellations due to persistent server errors.

Despite the airline's manifest insolvency and lack of available aircraft, the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) has not suspended its ability to sell tickets. While Brazilian authorities have moved to prohibit the sale of Flybondi tickets to protect consumers, the Argentine regulator has maintained the airline's technical authorization, citing a lack of tools for preventive suspension. This has led to allegations of regulatory inaction and the continued sale of tickets for flights that cannot be fulfilled.
