Flybondi files for bankruptcy protection amid $120 million debt
Flybondi, through its parent company FB Líneas Aéreas S.A., has formally filed for bankruptcy protection (concurso preventivo) in Argentina's Commercial Court. The airline aims to restructure its financial, commercial, and labor liabilities to preserve its operations, company value, and jobs.
The company faces a significant financial crisis, with an estimated debt of US$ 120 million. This is compounded by bank account seizures totaling nearly $1.5 billion requested by ARCA, rejected checks exceeding $2.9 billion, and tax liabilities surpassing $6.6 billion. The airline's fleet has also seen a drastic reduction, dropping from 13 leased units to just three, which are currently grounded or being returned.
Operational data indicates a severe decline in activity. According to ANAC, Flybondi's domestic market share plummeted from 17% to 0.1%. The airline has experienced widespread flight cancellations, affecting approximately 383,000 passengers so far in 2026, and has faced extended periods without regular commercial routes.
