Flybondi files for preventive bankruptcy amid severe financial crisis

Flybondi, operating under FB Líneas Aéreas S. A., has filed for preventive bankruptcy in Argentina to restructure its significant debts and attempt to preserve its operations. The filing was made on October 2, 2026, and is being handled by Judge Guillermo Mario Pesaresi in the 24th National Commercial Court.

The airline is facing a severe financial and operational crisis. It has not operated commercial flights for 57 days, with its last flight occurring on August 5. Its fleet has been drastically reduced from 13 aircraft to just three remaining in Argentina, while ten others have been returned to lessors.

Publicly identified debts and claims exceed 4,000 million pesos, a figure that could reach 4,600 million pesos when including interest and legal costs. The company also faces liabilities involving the tax agency ARCA, fuel providers, and airport services like Intercargo and EANA. Additionally, two aircraft located abroad have accumulated maintenance liabilities of approximately 5.5 million dollars.

The crisis has also resulted in massive workforce reductions, with approximately 900 to 1,000 employees leaving the company through layoffs or voluntary retirement plans. The company also faces 27 rejected checks totaling over 2,900 million pesos.
