Flybondi halts all flights amid financial and operational crisis

Argentine low‑cost carrier Flybondi cancelled all scheduled flights for a full day, grounding its remaining three operational aircraft. The suspension affected more than 2,200 passengers and highlighted acute financial, technical and legal problems that have plagued the airline since mid‑2025.

The airline cites maintenance difficulties, unpaid leasing contracts and fuel‑supply delays, with up to nine aircraft out of service and several leased units stranded abroad. A criminal complaint alleges the cancellation of over 2,500 flights and the disruption of more than 350,000 passengers, while former workers claim unpaid severance and voluntary‑exit agreements.

Industry analysts note that the crisis threatens Flybondi’s market position in Argentina’s increasingly competitive low‑cost sector, where rivals such as JetSmart are expanding. The airline may seek a substantial capital injection to resume limited operations, but its long‑term viability remains uncertain.
