Flybondi hit by 75% July cancellations and bans in Argentina, Brazil

In July, Argentine low‑cost carrier Flybondi cancelled roughly 75% of its scheduled flights, with 2,081 of 10,204 services suspended and the active fleet shrinking to about three aircraft per day. The crisis prompted Senator Mariana Juri to request a report from the aviation regulator ANAC, citing cancellations that rose from over 20% earlier in the year to more than 75% domestically.

Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) imposed a precautionary measure restricting Flybondi ticket sales to Florianópolis, Maceió and Salvador and set an August 3 deadline for the airline to regularise operations on the Buenos Aires–Rio de Janeiro route. Meanwhile, Flybondi’s owner COC Global announced a July 31 internal audit deadline, a $70 million cash injection, leadership changes and a possible rebranding to “OCA Air”. The airline also faces union complaints over unpaid wages and social security contributions, and ongoing financial obligations to fuel suppliers, leaseholders and Argentine authorities.
