Flybondi Operates with Single Aircraft amid Massive Cancellations in Argentina

Argentina's low‑cost carrier Flybondi is grappling with an operational crisis that left only one Boeing 737‑800 (registration LV‑KJD) in service at the start of June 2026. The remaining 12 aircraft in its domestic fleet are grounded due to financial and maintenance problems, including leasing debt, pending maintenance, and exceeded flight‑cycle limits.

The reduced capacity forced the airline to cancel 12 flights on the first day of June, affecting more than 2,200 passengers and limiting its schedule to roughly four daily frequencies. Flybondi has announced voluntary lay‑off measures, suspension of several routes—including Patagonia destinations and the international link between Puerto Iguazú and Lima—and faces a new bank‑account embargo over alleged labor violations. Provincial authorities in Neuquén and Río Negro have also imposed economic sanctions related to passenger cancellations and assistance issues.
