Fo Guang Shan members gather at Taipei Dome for 60th anniversary

Approximately 50,000 Fo Guang Shan members from 41 countries and regions gathered at the Taipei Dome for the 2026 International Fo Guang Shan Fellowship World Member Representative Convention. The event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the founding of Fo Guang Shan and the centenary of its founder, Master Hsing Yun.

Master Xin Bao, the Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, addressed the assembly, emphasizing the importance of practicing peace and harmony in daily life. He noted that the International Fo Guang Shan Fellowship has grown to include over 3,000 branches and more than six million members worldwide since its establishment in 1992.

Local officials, including Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, attended the ceremony. Mayor Chiang highlighted the significance of hosting the convention at the Taipei Dome and noted how the ‘Four Givings’ spirit advocated by Master Hsing Yun—giving joy, convenience, hope, and confidence—serves as a foundation for social contribution.
