Fo Guang Shan assembly at Taipei Dome

Overview

Fo Guang Shan is hosting the 2026 World Member Representative Assembly at the Taipei Dome on October 3, 2026. The event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the organization’s founding and the centenary of its founder, Master Hsing Yun.

This gathering marks the first time a religious organization has hosted a large-scale public welfare event at the Taipei Dome. Approximately 50,000 members from 41 countries and regions are expected to attend. The program includes a morning assembly presided over by Venerable Xin Bao, President of the International Fo Guang Shan Fellowship, followed by a musical performance titled ‘Love and Hope: Vast Nebula.’ This musical feast features artists such as Xiao Huang-chi, Xu Jingchun, Zhu Hai-jun, Pan Yue-yun, and Chen Xiao-dong, and includes plays reviewing the life of Master Hsing Yun.

During the assembly, Master Xin Bao, the Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, emphasized the importance of practicing peace and harmony. He noted that the International Fo Guang Shan Fellowship has grown to include over 3,000 branches and more than six million members worldwide since 1992. Local officials, including Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, attended the ceremony. Mayor Chiang highlighted the ‘Four Givings’ spirit advocated by Master Hsing Yun—giving joy, convenience, hope, and confidence—as a foundation for social contribution.
