Focus-Gesundheit releases first nationwide nursing home rankings
Focus-Gesundheit has released its first nationwide ranking of nursing homes in Germany, aiming to increase transparency regarding care quality. The evaluation, conducted in collaboration with the research institute FactField, assessed approximately 2,688 facilities through self-reported online questionnaires and public inspection reports from the Medical Service.
In Dortmund, four nursing homes achieved a top score of 4.9 out of five points. In Oberhausen, seven facilities received the highest rating of ‘very good’. These top-rated institutions in Oberhausen include Haus Marienburg, Haus Gottesdank, Vincenzhaus, ASB Pflegezentrum, Haus Abendfrieden, Haus Bronkhorstfeld, and the dementia group at the ASB Pflegezentrum.
The ranking criteria included staffing levels, infrastructure, cooperation with medical professionals, and various service offerings such as leisure activities and family involvement. Across Germany, approximately 3,600 inpatient facilities were identified as top-tier institutions based on the May 2026 data.
