Foire ADJAFI addresses SME financing and administrative services

The 14th edition of the Foire ADJAFI is addressing critical challenges for Togo's very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises (TPME). A recent panel focused on financing mechanisms and bankability criteria, highlighting that while TPMEs represent over 90% of the economic fabric, they currently capture only about 18% of available bank financing. The agribusiness sector is particularly underserved, receiving only approximately 1.5% of available funds.

Discussions emphasized the need for medium- and long-term financing, as current bank and microfinance offerings are largely oriented toward the short term. Participants proposed the creation of a national reference platform to help qualify and certify TPMEs, facilitating their access to national and international markets, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

In addition to business promotion, the event is providing administrative services to visitors. From August 20 to September 6, 2026, attendees can establish or renew national identity cards on-site at the Lycée d’Agoè-Nyivé playground, aiming to combine commercial opportunities with practical civic services.
