Foire ADJAFI entrepreneurship fair in Togo

Overview

The 14th edition of the Foire ADJAFI is ongoing in Togo through September 6, 2026, serving as a national platform for youth entrepreneurship with a focus on agro-transformation. The event features nearly 300 projects across approximately 270 stands.

Recent discussions have centered on the financial barriers facing Togo’s very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises (TPMEs). Despite constituting over 90% of the economic fabric, TPMEs capture only about 18% of available bank financing, with the agribusiness sector receiving just 1.5%. Participants have called for medium- and long-term financing options to replace current short-term offerings. To bridge these gaps, there are proposals for a national reference platform to help qualify and certify TPMEs for markets like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

To strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the fair has hosted a pitch session titled ‘Place aux Startups Innovantes’. During this session, 11 innovative projects in fields such as new technologies, the environment, and agribusiness were presented to a jury of experts and bankers to secure mentorship, visibility, and financial guidance.

Beyond business, the fair integrates civic and cultural services. Attendees can establish or renew national identity cards on-site at the Lycée d’Agoè-Nyivé playground. Additionally, the HALOU Festival continues to promote cultural professionalization, providing visibility and training for women in the music industry through artist Ralycia.
