Fontaines D. C. Dopamine Chamber Marianne new album indie rock

Irish band Fontaines D. C. has announced their fifth studio album, titled ‘Dopamine Chamber’, which is scheduled for release on October 16 through XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, the record follows their 2024 platinum-certified album ‘Romance’.

The new work is described as moving away from the band's earlier guitar-driven sound toward a colder, more synthetic aesthetic. Lead singer Grian Chatten noted that the album explores the search for pleasure in a darkening world, drawing inspiration from travels to Venice, Vienna, and Sicily.

Alongside the announcement, the band released the lead single ‘Marianne’, a song centered on themes of escapism and hedonism. The track was partially inspired by the 2024 series ‘Ripley’ and is accompanied by a music video directed by Dave Meyers.
