Irish band Fontaines D. C. has officially announced their fifth studio album, titled ‘Dopamine Chamber’, which is scheduled for release on October 16 through XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, the project follows their 2024 platinum-certified album, ‘Romance’.

Following initial teasers and live debuts of new material in Spain, the band released the lead single ‘Marianne’. The track, which explores themes of escapism and hedonism, was partially inspired by the 2024 series ‘Ripley’ and is accompanied by a music video directed by Dave Meyers.

Musically, the new album marks a shift from the group’s earlier guitar-driven style toward a “colder, more synthetic aesthetic.” Lead singer Grian Chatten stated that the record explores the search for pleasure in a darkening world, drawing inspiration from travels to Venice, Vienna, and Sicily. These developments follow the band’s return to the stage after the death of longtime manager Trevor Dietz in June.
