Ford Almussafes workers signal majority support for new labor agreement
Workers at the Ford Almussafes plant in Valencia have expressed majority support for a new labor agreement proposed by the company, covering the period through 2030. The UGT union reported that more than 3,000 employees participated in a consultation where a wide majority backed the union's position regarding the company's offer.
The company's proposal includes wage increases above the Consumer Price Index (CPI), an annual extraordinary bonus of 1,000 euros, and new premiums linked to program launches, alongside measures for production flexibility.
Despite the majority support, UGT has set three specific conditions to finalize the deal: a wage revision clause retroactive to January 1, the integration of the 1,000-euro bonus into the official salary scales, and the creation of a commission to manage CPI deviations within a 20% cap over the four-year term. Additionally, workers demand that any scheduled production on Saturdays be monitored by the Electrification Observatory Commission.
While UGT supports the framework, the STM Intersindical Valenciana union has rejected the proposal, arguing it is insufficient to recover purchasing power lost between 2022 and 2025.
