Ford and Honda face vehicle recalls in Mexico

Automakers Ford and Honda are facing scrutiny in Mexico due to vehicle safety and reliability concerns.

Ford is dealing with reports of electronic and mechanical defects. Specifically, an issue involving 6,558 Ford and Lincoln units has been identified where infotainment software malfunctions cause rearview cameras to intermittently display a blank image. Other reported issues include anomalies in camera systems, screens, and various mechanical defects that could impact driver reaction times and safety.

Honda Mexico, in coordination with Profeco, has issued a recall for 1,954 Accord Hybrid models from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years. The defect involves the internal computer system, specifically the Ignition Control Module (ICM), which could lead to a progressive loss of power and cause the vehicle to stop. Honda has stated that authorized dealers will perform the necessary updates at no cost to owners.
