Ford and Lincoln issue vehicle recall in Mexico for seat safety issues
Profeco and Ford Motor Company have issued a recall for 2,953 Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Mexico due to potential seat malfunctions that could compromise passenger safety.
The recall affects several specific models and issues:
• Ford Explorer 2025 and Lincoln Aviator 2020-2025 (1,638 units): An incorrectly installed easy-entry seat folding switch could jam, causing the seat to fold or slide unexpectedly while driving.
• Lincoln Navigator 2026 (21 units): The driver's seat may attempt to move automatically after position adjustments, potentially affecting vehicle maneuverability.
• Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator 2020 (1,294 units): Seat fasteners may not be properly secured, which could compromise occupant retention during an accident.
Authorized dealers will perform inspections, part replacements, or software updates at no cost to owners. The recall campaigns remain in effect indefinitely. Owners can verify their vehicle status through Ford and Lincoln's official websites or contact their respective customer service lines.
