Ford and UGT reach labor agreement for Almussafes plant through 2030

Ford management and the UGT union have reached a labor agreement for the Almussafes plant in Valencia, Spain, covering the period through December 31, 2030. The pact focuses on wage increases and job stability during the company's transition toward electrification and its new partnership with Geely.

The agreement includes salary increases above the Consumer Price Index (IPC). For 2027, wages will rise by the IPC plus 1.5%, with a minimum of 3% and a maximum of 5%. From 2028 to 2030, increases will be the real IPC plus 1%, with a minimum of 2.5% and a maximum of 5%. Additionally, a special gratification will increase from 690 euros to 1,000 euros starting in 2027, eventually being incorporated into the salary scales in 2029.

The deal also features a retroactive review clause effective January 1 of each year. This agreement arrives as Ford reorganizes production, including the planned manufacturing of a Bronco hybrid and the formation of a new company in 2027 involving Geely, which will hold a minority stake and contribute 221 million euros to the Spanish manufacturing operations.
