Ford announces electric Transit City for last-mile delivery

Ford has announced the upcoming launch of the Transit City, an electric light commercial vehicle designed to target the last-mile delivery and urban service segments. In Brazil, the vehicle will be available in three configurations: a regular roof van, a high roof van, and a chassis-cab. These models will be imported from China, where they are produced by Ford in partnership with Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC).

The electric Transit City features a 56 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a range of approximately 254 km under WLTP standards. It is equipped with a 150 hp motor and can support payload capacities ranging from 1,000 kg to 1,600 kg. The high-roof van variant offers a cargo volume of 8,500 liters.

Global developments include the introduction of a chassis-cab version designed for various body types, such as those developed by Scattolini. Future iterations are expected to include an electric power take-off (ePTO) system to power external equipment like cooling units. The official launch of the Transit City in Brazil is scheduled for the Fenatran 2026 trade show in November.
