Ford Bronco to receive new 3.0-liter V6 engine for 2027 models

Ford has announced significant updates for the 2027 Ford Bronco lineup, most notably the replacement of the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with a more powerful 3.0-liter unit producing 380 horsepower. This new engine delivers 597 Nm of torque, an increase of 34 Nm over the previous version. The 3.0-liter V6 will be an option for the Outer Banks, Heritage, and four-door Badlands trims, while it will come standard on the luxury Filson trim.

The base models, including the Base and Big Bend packages, will continue to utilize the 2,3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. All automatic transmission models will feature a ten-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, all Bronco versions will be upgraded from 4G to 5G modem connectivity.

A new Bronco RTR variant is expected in early 2027, designed for desert and sand driving. It will feature a 2.3-liter engine with enhanced cooling and an anti-lag turbocharger system, paired with the HOSS 1.0 suspension and 33-inch tires. The RTR is expected to be priced above $50,000.
