Ford Hypercar completes first on-track testing sessions
The Ford Hypercar LMDh prototype has successfully completed its first on-track test sessions. The testing program included an initial low-speed run at the Paul Ricard Circuit’s Driving Center, followed by sessions at Le Castellet Airport and the Paul Ricard Circuit.
Developed through a collaboration between Ford Racing and ORECA, the prototype is being prepared for its competitive debut in endurance racing scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The testing phase involved three full days of running and included participation from several Ford Racing drivers, including Logan Sargeant, Matt Campbell, Tom Blomqvist, and Mike Rockenfeller.
Dan Sayers, WEC Hypercar program manager at Ford Racing, noted that the successful shakedown and running period met key milestones following extensive preparation, including dyno work in Dearborn and simulator training.
