Ford launches electric Transit City van in Argentina and Brazil

Ford has introduced the electric Transit City utility van in the Argentinian and Brazilian markets. The vehicle is manufactured by the Chinese company Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) and is imported to both countries.

The van features a 56 kWh battery and a 150 hp electric motor. In Argentina, the model offers an estimated range of up to 381 km. In Brazil, Inmetro testing indicates a range of approximately 186 km with a full load. The vehicle is designed for urban deliveries and services requiring a more compact footprint than the standard Transit or E-Transit models.

Three configurations are available: an L1H1 low-roof van with 6.4 m3 of capacity, an L2H2 high-roof extended van with 8.5 m3 of capacity, and an L2H1 chassis cab option capable of carrying up to 1,600 kg. Safety and technology features include autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control, lane maintenance, and a 12-inch multimedia screen. In Brazil, the battery can charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 33 minutes using up to 115 kW charging.
