Foreign investors signal equity interest in Greece amid economic recovery

Alexander Exarchou, president of AKTOR Group and CEO of Atlantic SEE LNG Trade, said Greece is now in its strongest position in recent years to attract long‑term investment capital. He noted a concrete willingness from foreign funds to provide equity rather than debt, citing the Credia Bank transaction and involvement in Public Power Corp (DEI) as examples. The improvement is attributed to Greece’s recent fiscal discipline, primary surpluses, high growth rates and enhanced credibility in international markets. Exarchou warned that rising inflation and energy‑price pressures in Europe could affect the outlook, urging continued economic predictability and caution against policy reversals.

The comments were delivered at the "GREECE 2030" conference, which is organized by NextisNow and DomeConsulting and supported by several Greek ministries and the University of Piraeus.
