Foreign National Arrested with Large Quantity of Drugs in Mykonos
On 3 July, police from the Mykonos sub‑directorate arrested a 30‑year‑old foreign national suspected of drug trafficking and violations of immigration law. He was subject to a European arrest warrant issued by Italian authorities for drug smuggling and an entry‑ban order from German authorities.
Searches of his vehicle, residence and a nearby “kavatsi” yielded 239 “fixes” of cocaine, 296.5 g of pink cocaine, 154 g of cannabis‑infused chocolate, 37 “fixes” of ketamine (31.3 g), 31 g of powdered hallucinogenic mushrooms, 50 drug tablets, €8,000 in cash, $1,160 and a mobile phone. Police estimate the illicit proceeds at €45,085. The suspect has been transferred to the competent prosecutor, and the seized substances will be sent to the forensic chemistry service for analysis.
