Foreign Trade University hosts academic forums on AI applications and humanism
Foreign Trade University (FTU) recently hosted two significant academic events in Hanoi focused on the implications of artificial intelligence.
The AI4Econ&Biz 2026 workshop addressed the application of AI in economics and business, emphasizing the transition of AI from a supporting tool to a fundamental technological infrastructure. The event highlighted the strategic necessity for businesses to use AI to create sustainable value, safe management, and improved decision-making processes within Vietnam's digital transformation landscape.
Simultaneously, an academic forum titled ‘Humanistic Thinking in the Age of AI’ was held in collaboration with the Ritsumeikan Institute of Tsinghua University. Attended by nearly 300 scientists, experts, and students from Vietnam and China, the forum explored the intersection of technology and humanity. Discussions focused on how AI affects cross-cultural learning, labor, and knowledge production, with experts noting that while AI can bridge language gaps, it cannot replace the need for cultural understanding and independent academic judgment.
