Forensic teams recover remains linked to historical massacre and recent clandestine graves

In Argentina, the Equipo Argentino de Antropología Forense (EAAF) has recovered skeletal remains and delimited a grave in San Antonio de Obligado. The site is linked to a 1887 massacre of Qom and Mocoví indigenous people by the Argentine Army under the orders of the then-governor of Misiones, Rudecindo Roca.

The archaeological intervention is part of a Truth Trial aimed at reconstructing the historical events and providing reparations to the affected communities. The investigation was supported by documentary evidence and oral testimonies from descendants of the indigenous groups.

In Mexico, the Colectivo Amor por los Desaparecidos discovered a complete skeleton and clothing near the border wall in Miguel Alemán, Tamaulipas. This finding marks the 39th positive result for the group this year and is one of 16 clandestine graves located in that specific sector over the last three months. Authorities have been notified to process the site and continue investigations into missing persons.
