Forest conservation initiatives launched in Central African Republic and France

Environmental initiatives are underway in the Central African Republic and France to promote forest conservation and education.

In Bangui, the Central African Republic, the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security participated in a large-scale tree-planting operation on the Bas-Oubangui hill. Part of the National Week of Trees and Forests, the project covers 50 hectares and aims to restore vegetation cover, combat deforestation, and protect biodiversity. The campaign was officially launched by Prime Minister Félix Moloua and Minister of Water and Forests Gervais Mbata.

In France, the ‘La Forêt s’invite à l’École’ program has announced its 13th season nominees. The initiative involves over 210 projects and 15,200 students participating in educational programs focused on sustainable forest management. Fifteen projects have been nominated for awards, including 13 in mainland France and two in overseas territories. The winners will be announced during a ceremony in March 2026.
