Wildfires and emergencies reported in Spain, Chile, and Colombia
Multiple wildfires are affecting various regions. In Segovia, Spain, a fire that began on the AP-6 highway after a vehicle caught fire has reached the maximum potential gravity index of level 2. This has forced the preventive evacuation of Los Ángeles de San Rafael and Vegas de Matute. The Community of Madrid has provided reinforcement, including ground units and helicopters, to assist Castilla y León.
In Huelva, Spain, the Raboconejo fire in Niebla has been active for several days, affecting over 8,000 hectares within its perimeter and forcing the evacuation of hundreds of people. Firefighting efforts involve the UME and numerous aerial assets.
Other incidents include a fire in Catí, Castellón, likely caused by lightning, and a fire in Ovalle, Chile, which destroyed a commercial building and a residence.
